Jilin Province Forum on New Communications Technology for Graduate Students was held in the College of Communication Engineering on April 24. Zhang Xiaohui, President for the Department of Academic and Societies Affairs of Jilin Province Association for Science and Technology; Deputy Director, He Changchun, and Secretary General, Liu Ge of Jilin Communications Industry Association were among the honored guests invited. From the College of Communication Engineering, Dean Zhao Xiaohui; Secretary of the University Council Cheng Yue; Deputy Secretary of the University Council Tang Lishan; Vice-Dean Liu Fu and Sun Xiaoying attended the meeting. Some 200 students were also present.

Dean Zhao Xiaojun made an opening remark in which he pointed out the significance of academic forums on innovation for communications technology. He hoped that this forum could further promote communication between academic associations and our College. On behalf of the College of Communication Engineering, Professor Zhao Xiaojun welcomed the guests, and reiterated to the students and faculties present that they should cherish this opportunity, and better promote innovation and research on communications technology from our college through presenting the innovative work in the forum.

The forum also witnessed the awarding handing ceremony for outstanding academic achievements award to 6 doctorate and graduate students. The guests and student representatives delved deep into topics such as the prospects and future development trends of the communications industry, hot spot and challenging issues in the industry, the proper attitude of a researcher through lively discussions and dialogues. All in all, the event was rewarding and enriching for the participating students.
