On 7 December, 2022, Zhang Xinyu, one of the Ph.D. student lecturers of Jilin University, came to the College of Communication Engineering (CCE) to publicize the spirit and theory of the 20th CPC National Congress. The purpose is to thoroughly study, disseminate, and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, educate and guide young students to stay committed to following the instructions and guidance of the Party, and promote the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress to be kept in their minds and applied to practices. The publicity campaign was themed on “The Youth Explains the New Journey: Invigorating China through Science and Education and Developing a Strong Workforce for the Modernization Drive” and received the active participation of nearly 300 people, including Party members, probationary Party members, moral education assistants, and postgraduate student leaders of the CCE’s Postgraduate Party Branch.
During the publicity campaign, based on the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the thought of “invigorating China through science and education and developing a strong workforce for the modernization drive” proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and in a combination of China’s policies on modern science and technology, education, and talents as well as current developments, Zhang Xinyu expounded on the importance of three strategies, and gave a systematic explanation of the strategy for invigorating China through science and education, the workforce development strategy, and the innovation-driven development strategy, deepening the attendees’ understanding of the three-in-one coordinated development of education, science and technology, and talents.
Through the publicity campaign, CCE’s postgraduate students comprehensively and systematically studied knowledge related to the three strategies and had a more complete and accurate understanding of the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. Besides, they further understood that the three strategies were arrangements made in the critical period of taking into consideration both the global changes unseen in a century and the goal of national rejuvenation, realizing moderate prosperity on all fronts, and embarking on a new journey to a modern socialist country, which reflected greater efforts of the Party to constantly create new development momentum and advantages, and the resolution and courage to build a modern socialist country in all respects and advance the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts.
The way forward is lit by the light of the theory. Established in June, 2010, the Ph.D. Student Lecturer Group of Jilin University is one of the earliest postgraduate CYLC study organizations in China and an important carrier to conduct moral and ideological education with the concept of peer publicity and imperceptible education. The group focuses on the theory, principles, and policies of the Party and political hotspots to offer courses and publicity campaigns, achieving the unity of “event, time, and situation” in moral and ideological education. Over the 12 years of its development, the Ph.D. Student Lecturer Group of Jilin University has offered a total of more than 200 theory publicity campaigns on and outside the campus with more than 20,000 participants. While introducing the Party’s innovative theories to the general public, the lecturers themselves have become committed young Marxists.
