On November 13, the opening ceremony of the Jilin University Shenzhen Alumni Association Communication Branch was held at the International Conference Hall of Shenzhen University. The conference received great attention from the university leaders, sections and offices concerned and the College of Communication Engineering (CCE), and received firm support from the Jilin University Shenzhen Alumni Association, and received warm response from alumni in Shenzhen. Zhang Xiangdong, vice president of Jilin University; Zhang Xiaolin, former vice president of Jilin University and vice chairman of Zhuhai College; Liu Yanfeng, director of Office of Public Relations; Pu Shaohua, deputy director of Office of Public Relations; Ran Jun, deputy director of Office of Public Relations; Zhao Xiaohui, dean of CCE, and Zhang Lizhong, deputy dean of CCE attended the conference. More than 300 graduates in Shenzhen and other places participated in the conference.
First of all, vice president Zhang Xiangdong noted that Shenzhen, as a banner of China’s reform and opening up, had always been at the forefront in China in terms of communication industry. It is hoped that the Jilin University Alumni Association, Communication Branch can serve as a bridge for contacting and uniting the alumni, so as to win more glory for the alma mater.
Zhang Xiaolin, former vice president of Jilin University and vice chairman of Zhuhai College, briefed the attendees the background and reasons for the merger of the former Changchun Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, the status quo of CCE, as well as the establishment of the fund management committee of the “scholarship Contributed by the alumni of CIPT”. He encouraged graduates to remember the kindness of their alma mater and care more about the progress of their juniors.
On behalf of more than 200 faculty members and 3800 students, Zhao Xiaohui, dean of CCE, expressed his best wishes to the alumni, and his sincere gratitude to the staff who had worked hard for the preparation of this conference, as well as his heartfelt thanks to the alumni who had always cared for CCE. He briefed the alumni on the fruitful achievements of CCE in discipline construction, faculty construction, scientific research, talent training and other aspects over the years. He hoped that the alumni would continue to support the development of CCE and come back often, as CCE was, and would always be the home of all graduates.
Alumni Zhao Zhe was elected as the president of Jilin University Shenzhen Alumni Association Communication Branch in the conference. He, on behalf of the Shenzhen alumni, delivered a passionate speech. He noted that the purpose of the Communication Branch was to enhance friendship, share information, seek cooperation and development as well as give back to the alma mater and the society. He expressed the alumni’s affection to their alma mater and wishes for the Alumni Association, and expected the Communication Branch to become the home of the alumni, and paid more attention to the development of the school in the future.
Zhang Xiangdong, Zhang Xiaolin, Zhao Xiaohui, Zhao Zhe and others declared the opening of Shenzhen Alumni Association Communication Branch and Marker Base. After the ceremony, a wonderful performance was organized, and alumni Bei Feng came to sing on the spot, and the performance ended with the school anthem of Jilin University.
Communication Branch of Jilin University Shenzhen Alumni Association is committed to passing on the fellowship between the alumni of the former Changchun Institute of Posts and Telecommunications and the alumni of CCE. After more than a month of preparation, it has received strong support from the alumni and warm response of the university.
