From October 28 to 30, the “2016 China Robot Competition” was held in Changsha. More than 1200 teams and 3600 competitors from 240 universities in 28 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the nation participated in this event.

In this competition, the Jilin University team, composed of teachers and students at College of Communication Engineering (CCE), showed outstanding performance and gained excellent results in the Robot Martial Arts Challenge. After three days of fierce competition, the “Casual Team”, composed of instructors Liu Fu and Kang Bing and team members Chen Yu, Zhang Heng and Lin Pengfei won the national first prize (third place); the “Dragonfly Team”, composed of instructors Liu Fu and Kang Bing and team members Xin Ruodong, Hu Xiao and Liu Meihe won the national second prize; and the “Flying Dragon Team”, composed of instructors Liu Fu and Tang Zhiguo and team members Wen Hao, Feng Shuo and Ren Zhongxiao won the national second prize.

CCE has been committed to research in robotics, and has taken active actions to build a research platform for students in related fields, which has facilitated a research atmosphere over the years. In this competition, the participants of our college united as one. Without giving up, they finally achieved excellent results with their painstaking efforts.

China Robot Competition is the most influential and authoritative robotics competition, academic conference and popular science event in China. It is a major exchange event for China’s intelligent manufacturing technology. From 1999 to 2015, it has been held for 17 sessions in Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, Changsha and other places.
